After long time new version of OxyBase has beend released. This small release includes small changes like extended action helpers, new navigation page type and so on.
More important is that we have started to develop CMS on top of OxyBase and it gave us another real OxyBase use-case which brought lot of new ideas how to improve OxyBase.

Hello, I was playing with it all day today and I think that it is a great tool on which I will base a CMS system since it has all I need, I will also extend it a little bit to my needs, but since I’m not familiar with Doctrine because I was using Zend_Db_* I thought I could check it out so I read the documentation and I can say that I will keep Doctrine for sure! But my questions is, doesn’t OxyBase support multiple databases with doctrine? I really tried to find that out so in the end I thought that I should extend the Doctrine resource but then how I will set a resource as a default?

    Thanks

    Hello there,

First of all I am really glad that you like OxyBase. This is something that tell us we should keep moving to the same direction with this project.

Now answer to your question would be – of course it supports multiple databases, or better it would be to say Zend Framework supports it by default. The easiest, maybe not the nicest way to do it, is to create different doctrine resources for each database, doctrineResourceForDb1, 2 etc.

I bet there is a better way to implement this and we will try to analyze it and will try to create an example how to do that.

(If you would drop me an email (to.bartkus@gmail.com) with exact use case why you need it, maybe then we could suggest you better solution for this issue.)

Hello Tomas, thanks for you reply,

I tried to use multiple resources but I was getting some errors by Doctrine, and I’m new to Doctrine so I returned into one resource, although I need the functionality of multi DB I extended the Doctrine resource that you have a lot, I will email it to you when I finish it later today.

Again, this project rocks, many regards!
